Anyway where is the mode selector under the dash, maybe if I look there I will be able to find the hose and reconnect it. Thanks for the help Shoebox, Your website has really helped huge with this project.
Sorry, maybe I was wrong about how it got through the firewall. You'll just have to look for it.

The mode selector is the **** you turn to get a/c, heat, defrost, etc.

I finally got a chance to put the new OEM lifters in, to my surprise the lifters that were in the motor appear to be fine, also they are not the bad comp r's like I thought. I went ahead and put the new oem in any way got the motor back together also put a new abs in, with complete new front brakes. hopefully tomorrow I will get this erratic air reading and brake problem figured out when I can start the car.

started the car today, still have an erratic vaccum reading, what could be causing this. i think the brake problem is the brake booster, getting a new one tomorrow. if the car idles good and the brakes work then is the erratic vaccum reading bad?

Erratic intake manifold vacuum generally indicates a problem with the valves or with misfires. Both of those would be "bad". You are not getting maximum performance out of the engine.

vacuum brakes

the brake pedal going to floor or soft pedal could also be that the master cylinder is bypassing pressure.....if all air is out of the system...the vacuum booster helps you apply pressure to the master cylinder.....to see if master cylinder is bypassing there will be some brake fluid leaking out from in between the master cylinder and brake booster(where master bolts to booster)....hope this helps

installed a new booster today brakes are good. I put the new lifters in and used shoebox's method for adjusting the valves, the motor is quite and running good but still an erratic vaccum reading.

Have you tried to spray around to check for vacuum leaks? Starter fluid or propane?
