Vacuum with a 383?
Any one running more than 15 at idle (1000) in a 383, I have lt4 cam and stock heads.

You should be running nearly stock vaccuum with that setup since that cam is extremely small like Asian weener.

Yeah with a 383 hotcam idling at 1000 rpm Id think you should see at least 18".

What are the likly causes of a 3 " drop in pressure and what is the easiest way to identify the culpret.

Valves to tight,burnt valve,vacuum leak on a hose or module,worn rings.

My 383 with the hotcam pull an easy 18" of vacuume. Sometimes even more. Something as simple as rocker arm adjustment cam effect vacuume.
