LOL, me too. Ran my 3.4L dry 3 times . First time, just didn't know yet, other two times, ran out on the way to the gas station cuz I knew I needed some fast. 1/8 was a very dangerous place to be with that car...

My Z, on the other hand, has been ran to complete "E" twice, and has been fine.

 

I ran out in the taco bell drive through my first tank

 

Forgot my wallet when I went to fill up once and on the way home to get it I ran out in the middle of mainstreet. Gauge was just ABOVE the "E".

 

mine does that, it will run near empty at 1/4 and when its about to run dry it will drop instantly to E.

 

once i hit lower than 1/2 on the gauge i know i need to find a station ASAP. The needle will slope down towards empty faster than my tach can go up. My cat has ran out of gas at the 1/4 mark before and as soon as the car stops running it plummits to below empty. Yeah it has been fun sometimes with the car... when i fill up it pegs all the way to the end way past full then stay there for a good time before it starts to come down Good luck

same here. Ran out in Mexico so I had to put some of Mexico's fine quality gas in Now I just watch it and when it gets below 1/4, wait until the needle stops floating around and get to the gas station. My wife thinks I'm crazy, if she's driving it and it's anywhere below 1/2, she'll go fill it up.....not a bad deal!

 

I never let my car get below a half a tank, sometimes I have no choice, but I know with these cars...:P
