Upping the Ante

Well, it's finally time. I dropped off my heads for a full porting yesterday along with my intake manifold, got home and ordered up a 224/230 XE, Pro Mag 3/8 stud 1.6 rr's, new pushrods, Accel 300+, BBK 58mm tb, and the Nu-Tek vented opti swap kit with the cloyes true roller and Mezier water pump. The guy doing the install is throwing in the fuel injectors, and he has Comp R's in the shop, so I'm covered there. He's supplying the gaskets, and I think that's pretty much it!! I'm so excited that I'm finally getting the head/cam swap that I've been wanting to do for a couple of years now!

Too bad I've got to wait until the end of May for the install since the heads won't be done until then, and if I get sent to the middle east, it's gonna be longer. Oh well, it's in the works at least!!

A little local shop here in Jersey called Joe Prince Racing (JPR). Full port, 2.00/1.56, I got a deal because of a previous quote: $1300. That's for everything including valves, springs, ect.

Do you have any expected flow numbers?

This is what he told me to expect:

.100 67
.200 141
.300 201-204
.400 254
.500 274
.550 281

His work is immaculate, and I would not put these numbers past him at all. We're aiming for about 280-290 RWHP with the 224/230.

I'll have to see about JPR when it comes time to do mine later this year, but I am looking for better #s and more HP than that. I'll be going with the cc305 cam
