Question upgrade 93 Z28 O2 sensors to heated

I want to change my O2 sensors and know that the 93's are non-heated stock.

Anyone know how i can upgrade to the heated versions?

Shoebox has the "how to" on his extremely helpful LT1 based website.

It sounds like a real pain to me. Interested if anyone has done it, if possible.

I read that they are supposed to be better since they heat up better so they work better.

Can someone confirm this?

Re: upgrade 93 Z28 O2 sensors to heated

The sensors only work when they are hot (~600*F). The further they are from the engine, the cooler they run. Put headers on a 93 and the sensors may run too cool to work. The heater insures they stay at operating temperature. That keeps the PCM in closed loop, keeping the A/F ratio more stable.
