what bolts to replace on longblock
what bolts to replace on longblock
My longblock should arrive in a week or two and wondering what bolts if any would be good to replace. I already have new flywheel and clutch bolts coming. Also should I replace the motor mounts and what do you recomend. My build is in my sig everything else is stock wt 160,000 on them. Thanks for any advice.
Re: what bolts to replace on longblock
Poly does not last longer it is harsh and can cold flow, squeaks and rattles.
The headbolt comments are a joke right? Some year LT1s are TTY bolts but any engine builder that would reuse even the stockers on a stroker build isn't a real engine builder.
The steam pipe isn't really known for plugging up and does not need to flow a lot anyway, mostly meant to purge air pockets that would otherwise stay high and not want to be pushed down through the block to escape.

Re: what bolts to replace on longblock
Thanks for the input. I have arp bolt upgrades in the longblock. Just didnt really know if its worth the expense on anything else. I personaly figured the most could be reused but considered like the motor mount bolts and perhaps the intake but figured would probably be ok on them and just go a couple pounds extra on the torque. Honestly I also prefer to error on the safe side too so had to ask. I hate squeeky mounts and suspension. My truck gets rediculous at times good thing its loud or would drive me nuts.
