Unplugging MAF and car dies?
Mine ran the one time I had it unplugged, but the SES light did come on. I was like what the hell is going on? Then I saw that it was unplugged and then just plugged it back in and the light went off. I guess some run and some don't.
should still run in Speed Density mode. If it dies when you unlplug it, it should start back up and run on MAP readings alone. will set a code though. the 93's dont use a MAF sensor just MAP readings
SnkEatr is right on the money, unplugging the MAF will force the car into speed density mode, give a fault code and turn both cooling fans on.
I unplug mine regularly just to make sure it's running correctly, plus you can unplug it when doing the seafoam trick to keep the car running when you pull the bellows off of the throttle body..
It might be stalling just due to the "shock" of unplugging it while the engine is idling. Have you tried unplugging it and then starting the car? Just a thought.
