Underdrive suggestion

First off, my damper is broke so this is NOT just for more horsepower.......I HAVE to have a new one. I was looking on ebay for a lt1 damper and came across this and was wondering if anyone has bought one of these or if anyone had anything positive or negative to say about this. Here is the link, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BILLE...spagenameZWDVW

*EDIT* My main concern is price..............will it work. It's dirt cheap in my opinion. Shipping is not an issue for me, I have a friend who let me borrow a spare damper off one of his extra engines.

Re: Underdrive suggestion

I got the exact one sitting at home and I don't think I'm putting it on. First off, if you check www.ws6.com, the only got 1 HP. Secondly, that unit doesn't contain any damping functions that might lead to premature engine failure.

Re: Underdrive suggestion

Its not a "damper"..... its a "pulley". You take your stock damper off, put the pulley behind it, and bolt them both back on the engine. While it does provide an underdrive ratio, it actually adds rotating weight, which you don't want. I notice the eBay listing points out it is aluminum and "reduces" weight.... but in fact when you sandwich it behind you stock damper, it adds weight.

Since your stock damper is broke, you need a new damper.

Thanks guys for the replies! I'm glad I didn't order it. I guess I may get an ATI. I just hate forking over so much money!

Re: Underdrive suggestion

Jegs has some UD damper options not sure how good they are. The ATI is what I would eventually like to get.
