Uh oh... problems....
Uh oh... problems....
Ok well my cars having some issues. I just had the heads and cam done not too long ago, and this happens. I was driving and the car cuts off on me, then when I go to start it up, it doesn't want to stay running. I need to give it gas to keep it alive. It's making a squeeling noise off and on that gets worse as it warms up, and does it more when rev it up a bit. Needless to say the cars parked (kinda sucks since it's my dd). Anyone have any thoughts?
Re: Uh oh... problems....
Most likely a rod bearing, but could be a cam bearing. Looks like you need a rebuild. What is your oil pressure like? How many miles are on the engine? I am putting a cam in my car tomorrow and hopefully I do not run into that problem.
Re: Uh oh... problems....
Now that I think about it, it is possible that your opti bearing is toast and it is causing the squeeling noise. Happened to a buddy of mine once. Doubtful, but anything can happen. A spun engine bearing is fairly distinct sounding. Will the car idle at all to check the oil pressure?
Re: Uh oh... problems....
Yeah, it'll run if I give it some gas, and sometimes runs ok when it's cold. Oil pressure seems ok. Not too low. It looked a little low when it first happened, but it seems ok now.
