Might be as much as 10 rwhp increase over stock. The only difference I really noticed was the hissing sound it made over the stock box.

couldnt tell you how much i gained horse power wise but it didnt feel like i gained much at all at first but as a few days went buy i did notice that it never pulled that hard before with the K&N and a cut out i went from a 15.1 to a 13.9 but it had a mass air, now K&N has a dyno chart on there web site and it showed a 17 horse power gain and i would say that is pretty close

I haven't hit the dyno since the install but at the track I picked up 1 mph and 2 tenths. The throttle response seems a lot better also.

Re: typical k&n fipk gains

I wonder how these HP gains compare to just throwing a K&N filter in the stock box.
I know a couple different people with late model grandprix's that swear they could feel a good gain from just buying a K&N filter for their cars.

Re: typical k&n fipk gains

I didn't notice a gain until I had a few bolt on items put on, headers, cai, catback, new ignition coil, hypertech ppm 3. When they were all on I started to FEEL the car had more *****, firmer shifts are a definite plus also.

Many people say that the K&N FIPK or other similar CAI are actually slightly better than the SS setup. The air takes a pretty long curvy route to get to the throttle body with the SS setup. I doubt the difference is very much though.

I've always counted on 5-7 rwhp from the K&N FIPK, or similar.

Re: typical k&n fipk gains

this is a lil off topic, but i figured i would try to help another fbody enthusiast out. instead of paying for the catback( which is gonna cost 350+ labor) i would buy some longtubes and ypipe. reason being, is that u already have the cutout, which is the poor mans catback. so y get another. do longtubes and i bet u will be much more happier!
i honestly kinda like the sound of the longtubes through the stock muffler. but i enjoy it through the cutout alot more.
