Two Pushrods vanished after 1.6 RR plz help asap

its a 95 lt1 with trick flow 195cc heads/CC465/edelbrock intake and summit 58 mm TB.
i had been running it on stock Rocker arms now for like one week and its been great, Then I order Scorpion 1.6 RR NSA. I installed them on one piston first to check pushrod length, and it was right in the middle. I am not using the guide plates since thier SA. I adjusted the Rocker arms the same way i adjusted the stock ones. I tried to start it and i heard a nasty pop and lil smoke when i went to look two pushrods had vanished, I can only see the tip of one of them thru where the psuhrod goes, its inside the intake valley im sure the other one is in there maybe in pieces idk. tomm i will take the intake off for more inspection. What could have caused this. the good thing is now that the intake will be off i can adjust the rocker arms with more visual refrence as to when the pushrod is at the lowest point... but still what could have heppen?? Did i tighten them too much or not enough?
BTW the RR are still in tact.

1. What pushrods where you using?
2. How much of a turn did you tighten the rockers?

That's a bit confusing. You bought NSA (non self aligning) rockers and installed them, but you are not using guide plates because they are SA (self aligning).

If you put NSA rockers on without guideplates there's nothing to keep the pushrod centered on the valve tip.

Honestly it sounds like you messed up setting the valve lash.

Im sorry I didnt mean to write NSA , They are SA and they are Narrow body and Obviously I didnt try to start the car without the intake manifold lol, it was on and everythyinh was hooked up prooperly. Now as to how much i turned them after zero lash, I dont know it was late and i was kinda rushing which was my mistake. I am using stock length pushrods, they are new but stock length but like it said i checked the lenght and it was fine,( I checked the length during the day when I was more aware, so i know the length is fine)
