Comp Cam Pro Mag Question

I read that a lot of people are running comp cam pro mags. I searched and got a part number of 1305-16. It seems these are not being made anymore and from what I gather are now called ultra pro mags, part number 1605-16. Are these a good rocker arm? Not sure if I even had the correct original part number. I found some of the old ones online for around 250, the newer ones are 320ish. Seems a bit cheap for a popular rocker arm so correct me if I'm wrong. If I can save some money, would you recommend me buying the older ones or go with the newer type?

Re: Comp Cam Pro Mag Question

either is fine
IMO Comp wanted an excuse to push the price way up, hence the redesign.

Re: Comp Cam Pro Mag Question

That's good to know, I think ill see if I can find some of the older ones online and stick with the tried and true. Just sent the heads and intake to AI so I'm getting prepared for the rest of the build. Super stoked!

Re: Comp Cam Pro Mag Question

The redesign has been out long enough that we know it is reliable and I believe on paper at least they probably do have some refinements. I wouldn't go to too much trouble to get the old design.

Re: Comp Cam Pro Mag Question

You know you might look into the package deals AI offers on valvetrain, once you total everything up the pricing is pretty good.
