I'm already blocking off the EGR. The other I think goes to the exhaust manifold. Can I block that off???

they are both EGR, one is the inlet from the exhaust, other is the solenoid that control it.

Correct, and you can block it all. Not only can you, but you should.

Will that set off an ses light? I'm getting a light when driving on the highway and I think its the egr crap. It starts and idles fine. Just that light comes on on the highway. So if I block it off will the light go away?

I took off my EGR recently when I put on LTs, I had a block off plate and I made a gasket and used the old plate for the tube.
I took off the vacuum hoses and plugged the nipple in the manifold and have not gotten an SES light at all in the 50 or so miles I have driven it.
You need to find out what the SES light is for. It may not be EGR at all.

Well a lot of people say its a bad egr when the ses light comes on only on the highway. So I plugged it. I reset the pcm too, I just installed a new opti and coil and did the wires a few months ago. I would have it scanned but autozone can't scan a 95, I dont have a scanner and I dont wanna pay the dealer till I try a few things. I need to change the tranny filter and fluid but I dont think that would trip the ses light.

Rather than pay for a scan you are going to just start replacing parts? Reset the PCM? That clears the history that would have told you what the code was for.

EGR trouble code problems are extremely common on the 96/97 OBD-II cars, but not nearly as common on the 93-95 OBD-I cars. The diagnostic test in OBD-I doesn't seem to be anywhere near as sensitive. Tranny fluid will not cause an SES light.

Get it scanned.

For what the dealer would charge to scan it I could replace quite a few parts. Besides you dont learn anything just taking it to the dealer. I figured I would checkout the common parts that go bad before I took it to the dealer.
