Turnsignal switch?

Alight, I've got a 93 Formula. A couple weeks ago my driver side turnsignal stopped working. I, like any other normal person went out and bought some new bulbs, and swapped them. But to no avail!! I left it alone, because I figured I could manually push it up and down for a day or 2..Till I had more time to figure it out. Well today the passenger side went out, and thought maybe it was a fuse, it's not. Check them all. THEN I turned on the hazzards and both signals flashed "NORMALY" and still didnt work when I used the turnsignal switch. I thought maybe cleaning it out with some rubbing alcohol might work, but I cannot see anything inside to clean, but I didn't take it out of the car to do this. I would assume that it is the signal switch, but I am looking for a second opinion. Has anyone had a problem like this, or maybe tell me how to get it out with out breaking anything? Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Did you ever think that it may simply be the flasher?

Sounds like you need to look at/replace the turn signal switch in the steering column.

Most commen problem is broken cancel springs, buck ea at gm, or it also could be part of the cancel mechinisim is broken. If it's the switch you'll need to pull the streeing wheel and lockplate. You'll need a "lockplate depresser" to get the snap ring out. Becarful of the airbag, it could move your nose to the side of your face.
If you R&R the ts switch, when you pull the harness out, attach some wire to the end so when you pull the wire harness out it pulls the wire up the coulum, then use that wire to pull the new harness down the coulum. You'll need to remove the plastic connecter first, it well not fit thru the coulum.

I just had a simmilar problem last week. I replaced the flasher and it worked great. It was like $3 at Auto Zone, and took like 5 min to replace. Take off the kick pannel under you dash, and it is on the right had side behind a piece of plastic. The reason why your hazzards worked was because they operate on a different flasher. Good Luck
