turn signal problems

turn signal problems

Ok guys here is my ? Whats wrong when your turn signal stop working and still make the ticking noise when you turn them on. By the way b4 they both went out my right one worked but now it keeps blowing the turn signal fuse.

Sounds like the wire is shorted to ground. Pull out the bulb and the flasher. With everything turned off, use an ohm meter across the socket for the bulb. It will probably read low resistance. If it reads high, put one lead of the meter on ground and the other on the 12volt side of the socket. Changing the ground point should not change anything unless the ground wire is bad too. Now wiggle every length of wire from one end to the other until the reading on the ohm meter goes high. Focus on where the wires pass near any metal as they usually rub through there. The wires could be shorted together however and that could be a little harder to find. The bad spot could be in a random area as critters could have chewed the wiring. Haven't seen wires chewed by critters but know plenty of people that had the problem. I had an air filter that was destroyed by mice.
