ok i have my block all the way torn down cept my passenger side head and header...

i cant get the damn dipstick tube out. The bolt is undone and it just wont come up?


i blew my enigne and shattered a piston, so i dunno if the crank got messed up causing the dip stick to get stuck or what?

im about to just cut the damn thing off...

any ideas?

Mine just pulled right out when I did my header install. I did have to sand off the paint to get it back in though.

 

Put a screwdriver on the bracket that holds the tube to the block and hit the screwdriver with a hammer.

 

I remeber it helped to bend mine a little bit so I could twist and pull and it finally came out with a little work. Just make sure that if you bend it, the bend is in the middle and not down by the press fit on the block. If it gets bent down by the press fit of the block, save yourself the trouble and replace it, its a PITA to get it bent back in that area.

 

I just wiggled it to and fro while pulling up as hard as possible. It came out....eventually.

 

yea, just take the bolt out and wiggle and pull, it should come out.....

 

i got it...i hammered it with a flat head near the bottom of the block!!

damn thing was bent inside the block!

 

Gave you a bit of trouble getting it out eh? Wait until it has to go back in...thats the fun part.
