Angry Electric Water Pump Blowing Fuses

I just finished installing a CSR electric water pump. I followed the instructions and diagram from ken.lowrance.com/projects/CSIwaterpump. Everything ran fine for about 15 min. when bleeding air with the car off and ignition on, then 5 min. of the car running for a test drive. 6 minutes into the test drive, the wire that goes from the relay to the inline fuse had disconnected from the crimped connector near the fuse end and the the inline fuse blew. I replaced the crimped connector and made sure it was on real tight. I then replaced the fuse and it blew the instant I turned the ignition on. I was dumb enough to blow another two fuses after that. Ideas?

3 possibilites...poor connection(s),impeller rubbing the housing or a bad motor.

My last one ran for an hour then blew the fuse, pulled it apart and found the impeller worked loose [unscrewed] and jammed into the housing.

We have a winner! I hope they do an advanced exchange with me and allow me to pay for overnight shipping. Otherwise, I'm buying another one and having it overnighted, thus ending up with a spare.

Re: Electric Water Pump Blowing Fuses

They did do an advance exchange and I payed a little over $50 for overnight shipping. Seems a little high, but whatever. The new pump is installed and hasn't spun loose yet.
