Lightbulb trying to find the right pistons and such.

alright, here is the scoop. I have been looking into this extensively, and this is what I come up with:
bore: 4.030
Stroke: 3.75
Head cc: 58 (Race ported AI heads)
gasket thickness: .026 (MR Gasket)
deck height: .010
Piston: -9cc (DISHED)
gives me 11.52:1 static compression- the limit for 91 octane...
This setup also gives me a quench of .036, correct? Isn't this ideal? somewhere between .035 and .040?

Now, I can't find any pistons that are 4.030, 3.75 stroke, 6 inch rods, and 9cc DISHED. What gives? Any help or advice???

Thanks a ton!
~Cody
(Yes, I searched the crap out of this on here, and other forums and on yahoo and google... )

You can't decide on CR without considering your cam.

well, its a custom cam from AI. So, I would assume they should have all that worked out, right? Otherwise, how should I go about figuring out the dynamic comp ratio? I don't even know their cam spec yet, so I guess that is the first thing, but then what?? Thanks!

You really should talk to your cam guys to decide on a compression ratio, your quench is ideal. You just need to wait for the cam guys to tell you what compression ratio you need.

Re: trying to find the right pistons and such.

well, we were working on it, but then they told me to find out what sized pistons are available... so I have been trying to do this on my own over the weekend. I called them, they haven't returned the call yet, so that is why I decided to just make a quick post to see what others who have been through it all are thinking about what I am finding...

What kind of price tag is attachted to a Ross or JE custom piston to these specs?

Re: trying to find the right pistons and such.

Call Probe and get some 4 eyebrow valve relief forged pistons. That's 8CC's and they can make them anything ya want.

Look up Probe Industries. They are one of the largest and most up to date piston manufactures.
They make all of Rouch Racing piston.
I have used them for 10/12 years with no problems.
