Trying to find old post about rusty Jet-Hots or anyone who can help

I've had my Jet-Hot LT's in for about 6 months. My car is usually babied in the garage and all was fine until I drove my car to New York in some slushy conditions. Now the underside of my Jet-hots are completely rusted around the collectors and up towards the engine bay(basically just the parts that would be exposed to road grime). It's frickin ugly.

Anyway I know they have a 3 year warranty but I really don't want to go through the hassle of pulling them out since I didn't do the install myself in the first place. I remember a while ago(I think on a group purchase thread) someone was complaining and was in the same situation and mentioned that he and Jet-Hot had come to an agreement. Does anyone remember that? Or have a similar experience and can help me out?

Thanks!

My best advise would be to contact Jet-Hot.

Thanks for the link, thankfully mine aren't that ugly - yet. Ibanez6rg, I definately plan on contacting Jet-Hot but I would like to know what others have managed to get from them so that I know where I stand when I give them a call.

Eww, I don't like the looks of that. I live in the same area as Jared and I hope my Jet-Hot's don't end up like that.

I've had three sets of Jet Hot coated headers, the latest pair on an '02 Ram Air. They have all rusted like a ****! I thing Jet Hot coating sucks from my experience. Maybe because I live in the real world where headers see ****ty road conditions like salt/snow and slush and not in SoCal or Florida. Personally, a warranty where I have to spend hours of labor and possibly days of downtime to have my headers recoated is not much incentive. I'll never ever use them again, even if they paid me . Good luck.

JH

This post was a relief to know I am not the only person having a rust problem.
I too have the same problem and live in Orlando Florida and have only had them on the car for about 9 months with only 250 miles of driving the car!
I emailed JH last week and they said 'send them back'.
Well I am not pulling the headers just to make them look pretty on a track car. I told them I was going to send them back when I pull the motor this year for the 383 build.

Jim
PS: I have Grotts on my 1999 and they look new!

I posted here once about this problem, mine started rusting after about 4 months, only the one side is bad the other just has a few spots, the bad one has completely flaked off up half way up, it sucks, they told me the same thing, send them back. In my post there was a huge number of people this happened to, I'd say 50-80 had this problem. Unfortunetely I can't find the post. I wonder if there other coatings like the black 2000 degree coating works better than the sterling silver
