Tryin to get an idea

of what I want to do with my car this summer. I'll be getting a dd so ill have time to do some work on the camaro. not quite sure on the budget but i believe that ill have atleast $2000 or so maybe more, depends on how work goes. Cam swap is somethin i've been lookin at, not lookin to make a beast but i'd like to not end up kickin myself for givin it too little cam. most of it's time will be spent on the street with a few passes at the track if i can find the time (since my car won't be at school most of the year). Any ideas?

ps i dont know that i will be able to do much of the work myself because 1) i dont have squat in terms of tools or knowhow and 2) i dont have a clean environment that i could do the work in.

LE1 or LE2 h/c, whichever one yout think suits you best. Then maybe some 3.73's. I believe that will bring you right around 2g's.
If you do come up with the extra cash, maybe a good torgue converter? Probably about 3000 stall or so.
That's what I personally would do with all that cash, since it seems like you have most bolt ons. Another option might be to get rid of your mids and go long tubes w/ a good catback (not sure what you meant by "muffler" in your sig so maybe you already have the catback)

"muffler" means that like an idiot i bought just that instead of a full cat-back. that is the one regret that i have about what ive done with my car, was the first thing i though to do and i haddent found this site yet. and since u mentioned that i think ill take it out of the sig since it has little to no performance value

If you plan on doing motor work down the road, you'll need supporting mods. Some like myself do those first. How about a 2800 stall to go with the 3.23 gears you already have? That and a trans cooler. How about a cat-back or at least a cut-out for when you go to the track? By the way your Mac mids are fine. No need to spend money on longtubes if you don't have to. And it would help if we knew whether or not you have to pass emissions.

When your ready to cam it, go with the LE1 emissions cam and his econo heads. Good bang for the buck. And if you do decide to go that route, put a 3200 or 3600 stall in and bump the gears up to some 3.73s. With some sticky tires you'll have a pretty quick car.
