Quote: my bro was thinking about getting some of those purple horny mufflers for his car. How do you like the sound? Do they make that crackling noise? Or are they pretty deep, and rumbly?

Do you have the lt4 KM?

They're actually very deep in tone. Not very loud at idle and part throttle but loud as hell at WOT. I love the tone and it doesn't resonate nearly as bad as the flowmaster did.

Yeah I have the LT4 KM. Got that a long time ago and it really did help out. I'll try and get a sound clip it the system sometime.

actually for my exhaust setup it was really simple nothing fancy at all. No X or H pipe. Just ruducer after the headers. Then I bolted my bullets to that. And speed inc, welded my turn down after that. So it kind of sits right under the driver seats. I didnt have the extra money to have anything else done to it. This was my "Budget LT and True Dual Project."

Ill work on getting the sound clips. But the car sounds much meaner when your driving, not really when your reving it standing still. So I hope I can find a buddy with a video cam.

My car is louder with my 3" true duals and LTs than my buddies with a loudmouth and LTs and a 224/230.

Man I think I may have to change my plans. I just got the 227/233 cam put in and was thinking about shorties. The only reason was is because I couldnt afford long tubes and y pipe. And I bought the loudmouth. The loudmouth isn't on yet. I should just sell the loudmouth and get some longtubes and have my Uncles Muffler Man hook me up with a dual exhaust. Then that would solve having to by the y pipe. Is it a prob to have true duals and a vert?
thanks
Brandon

No its not a problem. It only starts to get difficult when you wanna run them over the axle. I personally like the deepness and sound of them being dumped before the axle. The longer the pipe the higher the pitch. Dumps at the axle just rumble your chest.

I had my duals done back in october and I still love em. I used 3' piping with a flowtech X-pipe and a dynomax bullets. The only bad thing about the exhaust is the noise inside the car, and it scrapes every once in a while. But contrary to you guys, I've got tail pipes on mine, 3.5 inch tips also. After driving with the dumps for so long they get kinda out of hand becuase its so damn loud. Although you guys are probably thinking this guys crazy who wouldnt want loud??? But i put the hotcam in my car about 2 months ago BEFORE i got the tail pipes, and with the duals and dumps is sounded like it had something much bigger under the hood, but it was LOOOOOOOOOUD as hell. There is no noise ordance here in Jacksonville, but there is when I take leave to Chicago. My SES light came on also but only because of EGR flow malfunction (EGR removed when cam was installed), not 02s i have 02 sims and I recently converted to OBD 1 so no more SES light.
