Trouble w/ Racetronix fuel pump install
I am installing a new fuel pump from Racetronix for my 396 i am building. I ended up taking the pump out the hard way because i didn't like the thought of cutting ahole in my car, and i wanted to make sure the gas tank was clean of rust.
Right now i am at the halfway point. I have the pump out and was trying to put the new one back in the basket. I removed the two braces in the basket to make the pump sit straight up. The problem i am having is that the pump does not want to go into the hole in the basket with the o-ring on. I tried chamfering the hole and it still did not go in. I finally tried forcing it and cracked the basket
Has anyone else ran into this problem and how did you fix it? I have a 1994 camaro w/ a 3.4 for a parts car does any one know if the baskets are the same? Or does anyone have one that i can buy?
Please Help,
Aaron
