trouble codes...
it said on the scan tool that my car had like two o2 sensor problems and running rich, and then an air flow sensor failure... but i just changed my o2 sensors this week and it used to run rich now it doesnt at all, do you guys think that those o2 sensor codes are just old ones? and what should i do abou the mass air flow sensor problem?
thanks
thanks
Re: trouble codes...
If you have the scan tool... u can clear trouble codes. Also if you dont... disconnect the battery and wait 10 minutes then reconnect it and it should clear any dummy lights....
Re: trouble codes...
It could be that your catalytic converters need replacing, especially if you ran the car rich for long periods of time. Which O2 sensors are throwing the codes? But I would just clear the codes for now and see if they come back.
Re: trouble codes...
I had an O2 sensor problem... and I replaced it...but those heated o2's cost $100 bucks!!!! So when I got the code again, and it was the other one... I cleared it and ignored it... it has only come back on once since then.... and I just re cleared it... dont know if its messing up how the car runs... but... oh well....

You can clear the codes by pulling the "PCM BAT" fuse for 30 seconds (key off). I think your 95 is the only year where they put that fuse in the convenience box under the hood. Other years its in the fuse box at the end of the dash.
If the codes come back, you still have a problem.
You need to get the EXACT O2 sensor codes. Not all O2 sensor codes are fixed by replacing the sensors. Sometimes the code can be the result of a problem elsewhere. If you get the exact codes, we might be able to point you in the right direction.
The only MAF sensor code in OBD-I is DTC 48. Check the pink wire on the MAF harness connector for +12V (key on).
