Trouble Adjusting my 1.6 Magnum rockers

All the sockets I have get stuck whenever the valve opens/closes making it about impossible to adjust with the motor running. How are you all doing it? I just adjusted them cold for now.

I did 'em cold. Tighten until the pushrod won't spin easily then 1/2 turn further.
