Angry Tried to program my pcm

I ordered the program from PCMforless and hooked up my home PC to the car and atempted to run the FLSHREAD .....well it stopped and then told me ERROR: NO RESPONSE FROM PCM... what is the deal ....I know that you can't damage the PCM by doing this ....but now whats wrong.... I had the car turned on with the enging off and nothing happens but the ERROR message. I also notice that my battery wasn't fully charged... could that be why... I put a charger on it to give it power and still nothing....... would that have damaged my PCM.... hopefully not.. I'm going to fully charge it today and see what happens tonight.........doubt it will help.........any suggestions? Any advise is wanted......and yes I am an idiot when it comes to this kind of stuff.........

Check your connections would be my bet.. you got all the cables secured and everything? Is the OS (ie: windows) you are running supported by the program?

the question is did you mess it up? If not, just check the connections and try it again.

Yes, I checked my connections.......as far as from my computer to the car.....I never unplugged any of the PCM connections during my mod..... I've checked them and checked them...lol....but if they wern't connected right then I thought that the program would tell me that there was a cable error.......It has to be ran in DOS mode for the programing to work. I have windows ME....and I went to the accessories in my pc and opened the MSDOS window to run the program......DOS is DOS right.....or do I need to run it another way without windows being open?

Im not saying that you wont be able to get that program to work...
But i was not able to get some programs to comunicate while others worked fine. For example flash read and another free program (i think free scan) i could never get to work but datamaster worked fine.

You might want to restart and hit F8 (repeatedly) while Windows is booting (actually just BEFORE Windows comes up and says it's loading). A menu should come up and choose Command Prompt (command line or something like that). That'll get you in DOS.

OK I think I've found the problem.............I'm using windows ME and opening the MSDOS "shell window".......I have been told that you can't do it this way.....but I don't know how to do it any other way.....I think you have to go to a web site and download another "True MS-DOS" version......does this sound right? Or can I run the DOS screen in the full window and that work because some DOS games and such run only in the full window.....
