Trickflow 58mm throttle body?

I am looking at 58mm TB's and trying to figure out which TB I will make the most power with and have the least problems with.

Anyone have any advice?

I have the Summit racing 58mm TBwhich is actually made by BBK. No problems with it. All the 58mm TB's will make the same power.

Ya, I agree with that mostly. I was leaning more towards the least problems phrase there. BBKs are seemingly cheaper than the AS&Ms and the Holleys. Hope this isn't for a reason... I am ordering the BBK right now.

Summit owns Trickflow so if Summit is BBK it is highly likely Triclflow is too.

All the aftermarket TB need the IAC bleed drilled.

AS&M is billet artwork but is hard to make the IAC circuit work right with. Holley has sticking issues.

Only issue specific to BBK is older ones whistle some I think they addressed it though.

Yeah good point. I had to drill the hole in the IAC passage but the TPS sensor needed NO modding at all. I had to adjust the blades position and that was it. No blade sticking at all.

FTR, I read that the Summit was a BBK. I dont want to stand on it as being fact. It could be a trickflow afterall.

I shipped the BBK. So I will read up on the drilling in the IAT. I have seen a lot of people post about this, but some people say they dont have to as well. I will leave it the way it is if at all possible.

It depends on what the IAC counts are. You will need a data logger to measure this. Mine were well above 100 which is too high. The drill mod brought them down to about 50 or so.

The TPS mod was for people who failed to understand the IAC circuit and were opening the blades to get the IAC count down, then they would slot the tps to get that back to zero with the blades cracked open.

So caprice, I have yet to do the research, but you are saying you can add a resistor or do something electrically to do the same thing?

No, he's not suggesting a resistor or some electrical mod. He's just explaining how some people approach the issue of getting the IAC counts, the RPM and the TPS voltage dialed in. What works is not necessarily the same for everyone.

And isn't PP a Chinese copy of the BBK?
