Trick Flow Heads

Trick Flow told me that if I just change my lt1 heads for a LT1 Trick Flow head I am going to loose .75 of compression. I undestand that Lt1 stock compression is 10.5, if I'm right that means that i will finish with 9.75, Is that a problem? Am i goig to loose a lot of hp?
what if I'm runing 150-200 nitrous?

Re: Trick Flow Heads

You might lose a few percent on HP..... a 3% loss would be about 10-12HP. You don't need lower CR for nitrous.

Why are you intent on using a head with a larger comobustion chamber, that was intended for blower motors? Out of the box, they flow similar to the stock LT4's. They apparently can be tweeked to over 300cfm, but so can the LT4's.

I'm going to stroke it on 2006 or 100k, wich ever come first. If the head flows more than stock, the car will not make more hp with nitrous?

It may make more HP, but if your going to stroke it, why not just wait on the heads? You could always get the Trick Flows and have them milled to re-gain some of the compression, but for the money, if I were you, I would just give Lloyd Elliot a call.. That guy works magic on stock heads...

You can do a search on this message board fora user name of Nighttrain66 and his name should pop up... Real nice guy and always a pleasure to talk to..

How much the heads flow has little to do with adding nitrous. You make as much HP as you want (or the heads can handle) without the nitrous, then you add as much nitrous as you want. It will add the HP proportional to the amount you spray. I was just pointing out that lowering the compression ratio is not necessary with nitrous... works well with relatively high compression ratios. I'm not sure why Trick Flow advertises those heads "for blower and nitrous applications"..... there is no advantage with nitrous.

oooooooo thanks, that's the reason why i wanted to change it. but if i'm not going to add hp i will wait until i stroke it.
