Trick Flow Engine Kits 350-445 Hp
Trick Flow Engine Kits 350-445 Hp
On page 106 of the new Summit they have some proven Hp kit from Trick Flow. 3 of the 6 Kits are for 350 ci motors and the others are for 383s. The 350 kit range from 350 to 445 Hp. And the price is 1,429-1,629. But one thing I don't understand is that these kits were tested with Carbureted engines. Does this mean they can't work on an LT1????
If the kits consists of heads and an intake manifold, then it will not work. I believe those kits are designed for conventional small blocks. I don't think Trick Flow makes heads for reverse our reverse cooled cars.
Nope, LT1 and a SBC 350 are not the same thing.... You can use pistons, rods, etc, but not heads or intake.
For heads, you can look at
1) ported stock heads
2) LT4 heads (ported or not)
3) AFR LT1/LT4 heads
4) Edelbrock Performer heads (Summit has these, FYI)
Other than a few out of production heads (Brodix?), the others do not work on LT1's.
For what it's worth, Edelbrock makes a "power pack" for LT1's, which consists of Performer heads and Edelbrock's cam. Their package adds supposedly 75-ish horsepower, which would bring a stock LT1 to 350-375hp (depending on where it falls stock)....
However, Edelbrock's cam is somewhat mild, and if I was going with aftermarket heads, I'd put a more aggressive cam than that. I think you could get 100hp with Edelbrock heads and a good cam. 150+ with aftermarket ported/polished heads and a good cam
That'd put you in the 450hp crankhp range.
