Re: transmission problem

I'm guessing you have an automatic, and I'm guessing you have a 1997 with electric trans,so I would take the car back to the place you had it serviced and they will prob.replace the solenoid valve,or actuator or something electric on the outside of the trans.I don't have an electric trans,so I really don't know.Somebody will chime in I hope.

Yeah is auto trans 97 z and it works good until it gets to normal temp and then it won't shift from 1st its odd just trying to get an idea if I'm going to need to put more money into it or should it be cover by the shop since the other trans wasn't doing that before it gave up then they change it and this happen

Re: transmission problem

Scan the PCM for codes. Many problems with the transmission will set codes, and they do not turn on the SES light.

We also have a trans builder that drops into the "Drivetrain" forum once a week or so, and has a lot of good insight to what may be causing these problems.

I note from the thread you deleted in "General 67-02 F-Body Tech" that you appear to have exchanged your old trans for a high mileage used trans:

I sent it they replace it whit another, 75k miles on trans whit a short shifter I was told.
