Exclamation Transmission Knocking!

I was fooling around in my car the other night(Raceing a Skyline GTR). At the line when I hit the gas I heard a loud knock coming from my trans. Since then evertime I get on the gas hard it sounds like the Trans wants to come throught the middle console. Could this just be the mount? or somthing worse ! Also when the tires brake loose the Trans starts to vibrate. I have a 96 Z-28 A4.

From what you describe it does sound like the mount. Get under there and pull off the crossmember to find out. It's only like 4 bolts. I had a horrible vibration problem under hard acceleration once also. Only happened during shifting though. Turns out it was my tranny, but when I swapped I found my mount was screwed as well.

get a poly tranny mount. It seems like once you break one, you start breaking them on a weekly basis until you replace it with something strong. A poly mount transfers more vibrations to the interior, but you get used to it, and it's much stronger than stock.

Second that. When I replaced mine I got an ES Poly mount. I think it was actually cheaper than from the dealer and it's held up perfectly. I never noticed a difference in interior vibration but I had a cutout also and that did enough on it's own.

Same thing happened to me. I went to a power slide and CLUNK! sounded like the tranny was gonna bust through the middle of the console. I believe I busted the mount.

I did indeed break the tranny mount. I jacked up tranny the the mount was broke right in half.
