I was wondering if there is any good way to tell I a trans am is a gt or not. Sheould a gt model be badged somewhere on the car, would there be a code in the glove box for, if so what is it. Is there someplace you could run the vin to find out? I was wondering since mine had the up level spoiler and is pretty well loaded.

im pretty sure its the same car. i think some people just add on GT because its fast.

 

I always thought it was a special package. Im pretty sure its a very limited production package. Correct me if im wrong, but im never wrong.

 

This list of production numbers shows that there were more trans am gt's produced in the 94 the standard trans am's. Theses numbers were posted on out local board and thats what got me wondering.

yours is the gt. im pretty sure that the gt option had the high rise spoiler.

 

95 was last year of GT option, it had high rise spoiler, leather, and I think traction control. after 95, high rise became mandatory on Trans-Ams

 

So is my 95 a GT??? I have everything that came in the trans ams as far as options, except the ws6 package. Im confused and thought 94's were only GT's.

TA GT's were only avaliable in 1994. The only reason they are "GT's" it becuase they have the GT package, which consists of the following:

High Rise Spoiler
Leather
Power air lumbar on both driver/pass seats
10 speaker sound system
and a few other small things......

some people will say they came with alittle beefier suspension then normal trans am's, I am not sure.

yeha man i ahve a tripbe black t/a gt also it has wider tires 245/50/16's to be correct and a "transmission perform" button in the middle consle the suspention is a bit beffer and the rest of what was sais out the 10 speaker and leather and high rise spoiler is true..but they only made them in 1994
