Trans Am Gears... PLEASE HELP

My friend has a set of 4:10 gears by richmond that says fit and S-10, firebird, camaro, etc... the part number is 49-0009-1.

I want to buy them from him IF they fit........what do you all think.......will they work or is it only for v6 firebirds? any help would be great, thanks...

more info needed, what year is your t/a, m6 or a4? what gears do you have in now?

You need to find out if they are for a 2 or 3 series carrier and which one you have.

I have a 97 TA WS6 with the M6... i think the stock gears are 3.42... but not sure about the stock gears...

I will try and get more info...

Those gears are of a series 2 carrier, wont work on yours. M6 cars came with the 3.42's which is a series 3. You'll have to find a carrier out of an automatic, then the gears will work. I know the 3.23 is the cutoff but is that a series 2 or 3.. sorry brain shut off.. find someone selling a carrier from a 2.73 auto and you'll be fine..

do yourself a favor and find some 4.11's and a solid pinion spacer.. adds a bit of strength to her.. do some searching on here and you'll see why. Look on Grease's homepage he has a picture of the 4.11's next to the 4.10's, big difference. Good Luck!
