T/A but I might be biased. I was about to buy a formula actually, I'd take either LT1

I have to go with Formula. I do own one. That has a big factor. But, I'm a fan of sleeper look. People don't suspect it. Until they witness the fury.

umm...i guess i do, i gotta formula and got wings west kit for the sideskirts basically lol dunno i love that little extra flare.

and IMO a trans am is better equipped for a race- the wing, more downforce on the rear tires to keep them planted at higher speeds on windier than straight roads..

I don't really know that for sure though lol, i gotta formula and got the t/a hatch a ram air hood, and ww kit, and now im getta another f-body most likely a 94 trans am the exact same color as my car right now or might get a white 94 z28....dunno which im gonna get though....decisions decisions.

Re: Trans am or Formula

I drive a formula, and I think if I were to buy another 4th gen it'd be a formula too. I really like the way they look. The down side is that lots of people have no idea what a firebird formula is, where as everyone knows what a trans am is. Albeit, these people are idiots, but the point is you don't get a whole lot of bragging rights driving a firebird. Every mustang owner and their dog has raced a V6 firebird, and can't seem to understand they came with a V8 engine too.

Hehehe, funny story, one of my friends took a ride in my car once, was totally impressed, and then went out and bought a sunfire because he thought it was the same car that I had. Apparently it's a common misconception among people that are dumbasses.

Formula all the way...4th gen T/A spoilers are too gaudy, as are the beaks. Of course, I am biased...I work for a Pontiac dealer, and sold my dad a Sunset Orange '02 Formula M6 brand new 3 years ago

Sitting at home with 2,600 miles on it, it will be mine someday...

Woot Formula. Formulas are actually a fair amount lighter and .1 -.2 faster in the 1/4 mile. Its been proven time and time again. Formulas (typically) dont have many options like the trans ams do, i.e cruise control, remote entry etc.. and they lack all the body panels/fancy hood/spoiler/bumper/side skirts/front bumper so it adds up a good chunck of weight. Plus as stated above they look like a v6, I love pulling up to people at a light and after they lagh at me open my cutout...muach ha hah ha

That wing does **** for downforce. A pre 98 4th gen formula w/ a ram air hood looks sooo nice.

Re: Trans am or Formula

I am biased to the TA as well. Typically it's almost funny to say but the TA has always been about being "too much". Or as some would say "gaudy".

I love love love the look of the TA. I can't get into the Formula's. The taillights look different too, don't they? Maybe it's because I had an actual six in '93 and now when I go out to the garage I am reminded what is under the hood.

Re: Trans am or Formula

The Formula would be a bit faster from a standstill. The T/A would be faster at top end and handle better at high speed, either car's advantage being so small the common driver (yes, including most F-body drivers) would never notice a difference.

Another vote for the Formula appearance-wise. I've never cared for "ground-defects".
