tranny swap?

I have been looking for a camaro for awhile now and I am finding that alot of camaros that are for sale ~70% are automatics. I am looking for a manual. if i bought an automatic and swaped a manual in how much work would i be lookin at? and how much would it cost me? the car would be a 94-95 camaro z28. If anyone reading this has done this want to give me some advice on weather its worth it to swap trannies or just hold out till i find a good stock stick?

It'd obviously be easier to just buy a manual, however, if you have the cash to buy a complete T-56 setup, you won't regret it. I did mine 2 years ago and would NEVER change it for the world (unless it was a Richmond 6-speed! ). If you're even the slightest of mechanical ability, you could do this. It'll just take you awhile. A friend and I did it in a weekend, and it was the first time I ever swapped a tranny...hell first time I even messed with a transmission short of installing a shift kit! I'll just warn you ahead of time. Pedals are the biggest PITA in the entire swap. That alone took my friend and me 6 hours of fighting, cussing, and praying...but it was definitely worth it!
