running it hard and being stupid with it are two different things. If you know something is going to break your car, and you do it anyway - your fault

You need to pull the tranny and see what happened, and do yourself a favor and do NOT take it to just any local tranny shop, or you will be doing it over again. Find someone that people around you have used before with good luck, it helps if you have contact with your local F-body club.

local shops dont specialize in an certain thing unless they state transmission rebuilds or somethin like that, take it to someplace reputable someplace that would be willing to take pics of the new parts inside the car (i do this now because i was scammed before) ask around before you get anything this major repaired. Just my .02

ok,here is a little insight,if it was the transcooler,it would of caused a problem as soon as you did it.
Second, the trans mount has nothing to do with it blowing up. wheels and tires are highlky unlikely also.

can you rebuild it yourself? i doubt it,unless you have specialty tools and pressure guages.takes a few specialty tools to rebuild a trans.

Also, why go to a TH400 on a mostly stock car?
i run 11.2's and have a 4l60e that has lasted almost 2 years, and shows NO signs of slowing down.

wht dont you just quit dicking around and get it fixed and ask them why it broke because it is obvious that you already tore it up

good question... I would like to know that answer to that as well. What brand is good and will synthetic make a difference?
