You need to quit guessing and go out and find out where the fluid is coming[came] from. My dipstick cap is always a little unseated.

You can replace the rear main while the tranny is out.

As for the 17 inch wheels, it is the tire diameter, not wheel, that determines if you need to change anything for speedo/computer calibration.

My dipstick cap was actually pulled off of the tube. And the tranny is leaking from the front seal. If my tires are bigger, would this tear up my tranny. Also , I would like to know if shifting the car manually alot tears it up. I started to that alot lately.

Sometimes when i give it gas, or let off the gas my car seems to slip around 50 mph. I have 2.73's A4, dunno what thats all about. Not sure what to check. I am having a hard time explaining it to you guys, but it seems like it shifts, then shifts, then shifts in about 3 seconds or so.

My car's on her 4th transmission. Manually shifting is not only HORRIBLY bad for it, it's pointless. The a4 will shift a LOT faster than you will .

I dont know about anyone else but I like holding out a gear sometimes. If you have it in drive how can it be bad. Its just like having it 1st and letting it stay there. I dont do it when I'm racing i just do it when Im cruisin' down the strip and I wanna be heard in 1st at about 3500RPM's

High rpm engine braking with the gears is hard on it (especially the high torque gears like first) and will wear the clutches out in a hurry.

Shoebox does not sound like the kinda guy that likes to fudge up his car. I'm sure he gets on it every once in awhile, but I highly doubt he's the type of guy to put too much undo stress on his car. Thats just what I get from talking with him.
