Traction problems...

Now I have stock Z28 and have some ptoblems with traction on 2 first greas. What should I do to fix this. I have some sumitomo 255/16 tires on the back but they arent so good. My car is an daily driver and I dont want to put Nittos or BFg's drag radials because of the tracion in the rain. I have few options change my wheels to some 17x11 and put 315 tires or do something with my suspention. Which solution would be the best for the $$.

Your best bet would be pick up a cheap set of rims and mount some Nitto Drag Radials for the track. Going with a 315x35x17 is a waste in my opinion.

You basically have a stock vehicle. Not to sound like a jerk but I never had traction problems under normal driving with my car when it was stock. My guess is that you have a heavy foot and need to spend some more time behind the wheel to get a feel for the car. Don't take this as a flame. These cars have a lot of power and you can't drive them like a 1990 Lincoln and expect them to hook up.

If it is cornering traction you are looking for perhaps bigger wheels would be of some minimal help. If it is straight line traction, taller rims will not help. The softer your rubber compound is on your tires, generally the better they will hook up and generally the faster they will wear out. Dry traction tires are typically not as good n the rain, in general. Maybe get some drag radials for the track and just stay out of the throttle on the street in the formula you are really looking for...

I dont have tractions problems during normal driving..:)

I have those problems when I try to street race with somebody on red light ). That’s it...I recently lost with some civic because my tires where spinning all in first 2 gears. I don’t want to put drag radials (because this car is my daily driver and I read that drag radials have a lot of problems with traction during rain). I just need better traction in straight line race...

LCAs, relocation brackets, and the airbag will help straight line traction.

if you want street tires that will hook great AND be great in the rain...look into the Firestone firehawk SZ50's....

they hook great in dry conditions (street) and are phenominal in the rain.

sounds like you need to learn how to lauch....you can't jsut stomp it to the floor....
