Traction Control Relocation?

Engine and transmission are bolted up and the 383 S/C build is going smooth - up until mounting the supercharger.

It is a Procharger D1SC and it runs right into the traction control module/bracket in the engine bay under the ABS Unit.

I am not super familiar with hydraulics, so I need some input here.

See factory traction control module right in the way.

From what I understand, there isn't a really simple way to remove this without involving removal of ABS, which is a no go for me - I want ABS. I also read that I would need to change out my cable for cruise control. Up until now, I've retained cruise/ABS and TCS and I'm happy with the setup.

The supercharger has to go in and it cannot with that in the way, so I just hacked into it with the mindset that I will get it out of the way so I can move forward with SC install and fix this later.

Below is what I've done so far. Tapped 3/8-16 threads into the frame rail and bolted it down.

Can I safely extend those current lines somehow to run to the traction control unit? If not, can I cap them all and just plug it in so it thinks it's there??

Anybody have experience with this? Thank you.

I don't see any reason why you can't use couplers and extend the lines to the ports where they go to.

So with the intercooler piping and the TCS block there, there is no way to install the radiator. I think I need to remove this module or mount it underneath the vehicle if I really wan to keep it.

I do want ABS but I could do without the TCS and the TCS is the only thing in the way. Does anybody know how the car will react if I just tie those lines together or cap them off??

Re: Traction Control Relocation?

For future people that run into this issue.

Ordered copper nickel line. much easier to work with.

Cut part of the bracket off the TC module to get it to fit in this location:

Tapped a 3/8-16 and bolted it down. Had to rebend the lines - I routed them underneath the frame and reused the stock 1/4" line and just bent the heck out of it. Doesn't look great but it works.

I used a 4 pin metri pack 280 12ga connector to extend the harness:

All of my intercooler piping fit well without obstruction and I get to keep my ABS. Looks ugly but this has been a hold up on this project for some time, so for those of you that do not want to get rid of ABS, here is a simple solution.

Looks good!
I would put the lines in some vacuum hose to protect them since you ran them under the frame, also put the wires in a wire loom.
The copper nickel lines are easier to damage than the steel lines.

i do plan on putting the wires in a loom but i hadn't thought of protecting the lines. Great suggestion.
