Traction Control

I have traction controll on my car and I was wondering if I could disconnect it and take it off the motor without messing up anything. Has anyone done this before? I just dont like it taking up half the engine bay.

I want to do this too but still waiting on a list of parts to convert the ABS over to the non-ASR setup. If you remove the ASR/TCS as is with just replacement throttle cable (and) cruise control cable, you wont have ABS. Both systems are intertwined. There are a couple people here that have retained ABS, hopefully they can shed more light on that part of the ASR removal.

just pull the TCS relay out of the relay box in the engine compartment...thats all i did, and the ABS still works fine, and no TCS

Don't you guys have override buttons?
With my ride, I just turn it off when I don't want it active..........

I'm having a difficult time seeing why you would remove it.....

They all have buttons if they're equipped with traction control. There is a way to get rid of it all together and keep ABS, but I think the easy/chaep thing to do is get this thing from SLP. It reverses the button so that the car starts on the "off" mode, and you can turn it on if you wish (for rain, or any other reason you might want slip protection)

i dont know if formulas are different, but i know that 95 and 96 z28's do not have an override button...but all u do is just take out the TCS relay...when u want TCS...just plug back in the relay...takes all of 10 seconds

All cars that come equipt with traction controll have override buttons, some are hard to find. my 96 ta has a override button. and my friends 96 z has one to.

The reason these people want to remove traction controoll motor is because it is in the way in the engine compartment. it is big and hidius and makes the motor look ugly. I a in the process of removing mine, well reloacating it i should say,

ill post later to tell everyone how it went, and sorry for the grammer, i cant spell today for some reason
