Track problems, please help?

I went to the track on tuesday and was fine all night long. My first three passes were 13.8, 13.7, 13.7. But then I got to my last pass of the night and it got pretty interesting(and scary). I did my burnout(so i thought) and pulled up to the line, just as i had the last 3 runs. I put it in drive(not OD) and launched as normal. when first gear ended, it didnt shift, just pinged off the rev limiter a few times, i let off the gas a little and it shifted. i went WOT the rest of the run and the 2-3 shift was fine. i ended up running a 15.2 @94 MPH. after the run, i talked to my brother who waswatching from the burnout pit and he told me my burnout was horrible. my tires didnt spin much and my engine just revved as if they were.

going out of the track i nailed it and the shift from first to second felt fine again, but when i checked my tranny fluid later that night, it was a quart low.

what happened for that one pass, and what could cause it to happen??

check for leaks, and all your connections...

a quart low isn't THAT low... but... low pressure from low fluid *could* cause a skip off the clutches... and cause it to not shift, it could have also been slipping during the burnout, which could be why it didn't burnout well....

you DID check the fluid level when the car was RUNNING right?

what color was the fluid?

Hot transmission plus low fluid plus full power launch could create the problem you had. Probably ought to drop the tranny pan and inspect it for dust.

thanks guys, ill drop the pan and see what i find. i figured it had to be either the tranny fluid getting hot or low fluid, so we'll see what happens

thanks

The track i went to (Atco) doesnt have any way to go around the water puddle before the burnout pit, so I had to do a little cleanoff burnout before I went to the line. It wasnt some big NHRA smoke show burnout or anything, just didnt wanna launch on wet tires.
