Re: Track Day Tomorrow!!

I think my traps are so low because my tach is far off.

Ion programmed me with a 6300 rev limiter... but my tach is 7k. So i'm to purchase a tach from Harlan with a shift light and see how different they are. Then data log it and go from there.

I still don't see how your tach is causing low MPH. I think its not too far off for the mods you have. Some people with headers CAI and catback only run about 103-105. Depending upon how lucky you are headers, CAi, and catback can = 300rwhp on an LT1 car.

Just because you have a 6300 rev limiter doesn't mean you want to take it that high. I think without headers the higher you rev the more choked up it will get.

Re: Track Day Tomorrow!!

I don't take it to 6300... I shift at 6k... but i'm saying that when I dynoed, revving to 5450 when my tach said 5800. Thats pretty off. Then, I pegged the tach at 7k when the tach is set to bounce at 6300. So if i'm like 500 rpms off through 3 gears, that 1500 off.

You don't think that would matter? hrm

Haha that video was hillarious! Was that guy drunk or something? I'll admit im guilty of claiming to have a burnt clutch on my rice mobile, or the shift linkage being messed up, but both of those time AAA had to tow me home lol.

What car was he racing? It was beating him pretty badly.
