tps range

checked tps today
it was .62 at idle and 4.46 at wot

after max. adjustment it read

.86 at idle and 4.66 at wot

is this sufficient....or is there something else I can do ?
maybe need a new tps to gain better range??

mine does work smoothly

thanks

What do you mean by better range??? There is no such thing as a better range. If your sensor reads from 0% to WOT that means it's working properly.

I don't see the problem, am I missing something?

I would just think that after adjusting the tps to maximum capabilities...and could not get better readings than that....that maybe the tps is kinda defective. meaning a new one would be more tunable.

What do you mean by "maximum capabilities?"

On the LT1, the TPS closed throttle voltage has to be ANYWHERE between 0.20 - 0.90 Volts. If it is in that range, the PCM reads the TPS before the engine starts, and sets that voltage as 0% throttle position. It then prorates throttle position to 100% by using a voltage approx. 4.0V higher than the closed throttle voltage. Forcing the TPS to it maximum voltage gains you nothing. In the opinion of some people, it will hurt you. A lot of people seem to feel that a closed throttle reading of 0.50 - 0.67V provides the best throttle response. Almost every STOCK system I have ever scanned has shown up as 0.65-0.67V.

So... what are you after in trying to max out the TPS reading? If yyou go over the upper limit for what the PCM will accept, it will set a trouble code.
