TPS @ 32% with car off?!?!
TPS @ 32% with car off?!?!
the TPS volts are reading at ~1.9v. these values are when the ignition is on but the car is off. i am going to get some IAC counts to see where they are at when the car is on and idling. is my TPS reading these values bc it needs to be slotted? i have replaced the sensor so i know its good and i have adjusted the stop screw so that its not interferring with the throttlebody. Any ideas?

Re: TPS @ 32% with car off?!?!
The TPS voltage needs to be between 0.20-0.80 Volts. If you're getting 1.9V, something is screwed up. I don't think "slotting" it will allow you to make that much correction. If the snesor is new, may be a wiring problem. First check to see if you have 5V between the gray and the black wires. Are you sure you have the slot in the sensor correctly indexed to the flats on the shaft?
Re: TPS @ 32% with car off?!?!
thanks for the tips but i went ahead and slotted the mounting holes on the TPS and it dropped the voltage down to ~.7 and it shows 0% throttle when i start the car now. i didnt think that slotting the holes would bring the voltage down that much but it did and suprisingly, i could have slotted quite a bit more!
