TPI block/400 SB heads would LT1 intake work

TPI block/400 SB heads would LT1 intake work
I'm trying to convince my friend to change his TPI intake to an LT1 intake but he told me that he has chevy 400 sb heads. Now would the LT1 intake still work? Would he have to open upthe intake ports alittle?
