TORQUE, where art thou

OK. I just installed my AS&M headers, and many scrapes and scratchs later, and one broken temp sensor, I'm done! . Anyways, it pulls really strong from 3800 - 5800 rpms, but I think I lost too much low end torque. I also gutted my cat while it was off. Is it possible that now I don't have enough back pressure??? Do you guys think I should get a high flow cat, and will it help me get my power band a little lower in the middle rpm range? My motor is stock, and the only other mods I have are CAI and cat back. I'm wishing that I left the cat alone because the exhaust lost that nice deep tone, and now it sound really hollow. I sounds really bad at low rpms, like an old beat up car or something. BUT, at WOT it screams!!!! Thanks!

my setup DOES not lack low end torque. I say, if u don't need cats for emissions leave them off. Maybe lose a little low end, but when u mod bigger later it will be worth it, nitrous oxide for example, OPEN exhaust as possible

im pretty sure you shouldnt of lost any low end. If anything you should of gained. I dont have any major mods and dont have cats and i noticed a BIG increase in low end power. I could really tell the difference. Dont know what could be wrong with yours.

It is just so loud now compare to before. Maybe I just need to get used to the car again. I plan on going to the drags on Wednesday to see how much of a difference the headers made. It just feels like a different car now. Did you guys think the car responded differently after the header install??

You didn't lose much low end if any at all. My exhaust setup is very high flow and when I had my car dynoed the torque was over 300 for the whole run. The only reason for you to put a high flow cat on would be for sound. Otherwise keep your setup as it is.

ONly reason you think you lost lowend is because you gained so much up top, in comparison it feels slower down low, but you didnt lose anything.

Also, forget the cats, they EAT power on a header car (trust me, been there done that).
