Torque arm bushing ahhhh!!!!!

Well I needed to put a new torque arm bushing in because mine is shot, and the transmission bangs and clunks when shifting gears(already put es tranny mount in). I got the nuts off the bolts but cannot get the bolts out to remove the bushing bracket. If anyone has any suggestions or an install guide or anything like that please share them.

not that hard to do just jack up the tail end of the transmission and swap it out along with transmission mount. You'll need a grinder to grind off the rivits...should take more than an hour to finish everything.

But if I jack up the tailshaft I dont see how that is going to help me get the bolts out? I alredy put the tranny mount in too. Maybe I am missing something.

Dude....its just 2 bolts...can't be that hard! You don't have to remove the torque arm at all just remove the bracket.

the bolts are hitting on the tunnel so I cannot get them out. If I jack the tailshaft that still doesnt solve anything. And there a three bolts. I got the nuts off all the bolts but cannot pull the bolts out .

I just installed an aftermarket torque arm, and it took like 2 minutes to get those bolts out. I am not sure what you are having trouble with?? Just unbolt the bushing by the transmission where the torque arm goes in. It is simple.

there are three bolts right...

one at the top, one that is part of the bracket, and one that goes through the bracket and part of the tailshaft with a nut on the end.

i just did the one on my ls1...

unbolt the tranny crossmember and tranny mount. it will allow you to rotate the bracket enough to pullit striaght out...and you have to have the rear of the car up but NOT supported by the axle.
you need the axle free so you can move the torque arm.
