Question Torque Arm ???

I am wondering if there is really any big difference in performance.........note I said performance, not personal biases, feelings or palm greasing explanations.

But can or is there really 175 dollars worth of difference a MAC Torque arm and their closest competitor

My opinion is that all that get the mounting point off the tranny mount are ok. Get a tunnel brace, a cross brace, whatever that company uses, but in the end, dont bother with a TA that still mounts to the tranny mount.

I agree. It's a good idea to stop using the weak tranny crossmember and use a crossbrace of some sort. I have the Spohn and it is by far a quality piece. I have not been to the track to test it, but it is strong and is available with a driveshaft loop, another plus for me. Also, it is much easier to install then the BMR ones because it mounts in place of your tunnel brace, no welding required.

I also agree about not having it on the tranny mount. FWIW I have the MAC TA and it hasn't broke yet.

I still have my stock torque arm...but several guys I know that road race and drag race use the torque arm from LG Motorsprorts.

Lou's torque arm has a different type of mounting point at the transmission.

Give him a call and I bet he would give you a little better price than he has listed on the web.

I got a Spohn TA on the way, and after much research decided it was the way to go. You can get it with the ds loops, and it doesn't mount to the tranny. Talk to somebody at ACA performance, one of our sponsors, they have special pricing on Spohn products right now.

I've been running a global west torque arm for about 4 years now. Nice HD piece. It was a little pricey when I bought it, but at the time I was not aware of to many other manufacturers that didnt use a tranny front mount.

The only thing I dont like about the the GW is the fact that it's only singe adjustable. Meaning you have to take it off the rear end housing to make adjustments to pinion angle. Not a big deal though, since once you have it adjusted where you want it - you leave it alone.
