Took the car to the shop for mis.

My car has had a mis fire for a long time now.Even before I did the cam swap. But the shop I took it to seems to think I did somthing wrong. They say the crankshaft sensor can throw every thing off and I cant run the dubble chain;I asked him if it could be tuned out and he toled me I absolotly need the crankshaft sensor. They toled me they have to degree the cam and put a stock chain on it for $700.I know I did the cam install right; and If I dident degree the cam correctly shouldent it be running way worse? In the end I decided to take my keys and take off.

The reason I took the car to the shop is because it runs real bad once its wormed up.It mis fires and has no power down low;but after 3000rps it is fine.

Just my .02 but when I had a similar problem it was my ICM(Ignition control module). Only misfired when car was warm. Take it to autozone and they can test it for free. Oh and he is full of crap, of course you can run the double chain, alot of people do it.

If you can get ahold of a scanner....checkout your 02 readings. My car has a shorted out 02 and my car starts acting up when it gets warm. Acts like a miss and sometimes pops out of the exhaust, but when it hits 3000rpms it runs what seems to be 100%. I think I found a split in my driverside 02....just haven't had time to fix it.

Lots of things can cause misfire issues, don't think running a double chain is one of them though.

just FYI, the crank sensor on the LT1 is for misfire detection only, nothing else, however, the wiring to it , if damaged, CAN effect it, but thats it
