too much compression?

How can you tell if your car is making too much compression? Will it bog down, stumble, miss, or something like that? When I did the cam swap, I had my heads milled and got b-body gaskets to raise the cpr. The machine shop ended up cutting about .0020 off the heads. Ive been trying to find out what my cpr would be, but cant find anything.

Were the heads milled 0.002" or 0.020"? The first, shouldn't have much of an impact on compression, the later will give a significant increase in compression. Neither one should be "too much".

Another thought, what was the finished volume of the combustion chamber of the heads? The machine shop probably "CC'd" them for you. This number will be more important when calculating CR than the amount of metal milled.

It was 0.020, and they didnt tell me the volume of the combustion chambers. Even with the head gaskets being 0.029 and the heads being cut that much, it would be alright to run pump gas?

Yes. Not a problem.
