tire question

It's a little off season now, but if i can get a good deal on a set of rims, I was thinking it might be a good idea to get a couple extras and throw some winter tires on. Right now, I have Goodyear Eagle HP's and I just can't get around very well. I throw 200lb is back but still no go. I was wondering what a good tire would be for winter driving and that will last too?

A truck, I have driven some of the worst cars in the snow and trust me F-Bods suck for snow go buy a truck if you can't afford it cut the insurance on the f-bod for the winter and the money you save will get you one hell of a beater!!! or just get a snowmobile!

I would get a truck, but with how far away I am from home, I'm not getting a beater. I don't want something that will break down on me coming to college or around town. Is there any good tire that will get an F-body around?

You can do surprising well with an F-body in the snow, provided the snow is not very deep (low ground clearance) and if you were to use some good winter tires. The problem is that there are no dedicated winter tires in an appropriate size. If I were going to try it, I'd use the BFG g-Force T/A KDWS. It still isn't gonna be like an AWD or even a FWD car, but should get you through light snow.

I have the same exact tires on my car...have you ever experience your tires sliding on dry road before?

I guess they don't slide that bad for me, but I don't drive real agressive all the time. They do spin nicely if i want them to though.

Blizzaks are made by Bridgestone.

I ran a set of 4 Blizzak 225/55-16 "ice" tires (the ones with "hydrophilic" tread compound, or whatever they called it) on a set of take-off salad shooters. They were a huge improvement over the stock GS-C's in the snow. But the tread compound is only "partial".... when the tread is 50% gone, the ice gripping compound is gone. And on dry pavement, there was absolutely no traction of any kind.... I was getting dusted by mom 'n pop sedans coming off the lights..... . After two years with the Blizzaks, I decided to park it in the winter.

what model of blizzaks did you have? The WS50's seem to get rated good.
